Our Curriculum
Reading
Hillstone Academy Preschool teaches reading through the licensed Learning Dynamics System. This highly rated and effective nationally recognized curriculum is successfully practiced in public and private schools throughout the United States. The Learning Dynamics curriculum permeates all learning areas at Hillstone Academy.
Math
Hillstone Academy Preschool prepares students in number recognition and values, number writing, addition and subtraction, and number sequence. These foundational skills, when learned early accelerate progressive learning in all areas of education.
Writing
Hillstone Academy Preschool teaches students letter recognition and sounds, leading to writing their own names, reading words and sentences, and writing sentences. As students become proficient in writing, reading and math are aptly integrated.
Art
Hillstone Academy Preschool includes art projects in every class. Participation in art gives students opportunity to develop perception, dexterity, tactile observation, and following direction. We recognize the individual learning style of each student and ensure experience in all areas of education.
Music
Hillstone Academy Preschool combines learning letters and sounds, counting, days of the week, months, colors, shapes, body parts, animal sounds, and patriotism with music. Our students engage in music and movement activities daily and are introduced to five new songs each month. Songs quickly and joyfully reinforce learning for students.
Life Learning
Hillstone Academy Preschool provides experiences for students to engage in imagination, self-awareness, nature, shapes, textures, colors, manners, friendship, citizenship, and family relationships. We strive for every student to develop fundamental appreciation for themselves, those around them, and their environment.
